Welcome to WSA & The Grief & Loss Foundation
We hope you will find here a place of healing, love and light. Through our loss, lets forge bonds of friendship, support and aid to move forward.
FOUNDER' NOTE
Death is inevitable. We all know that yet when we lose someone we love, be it a spouse, a sibling, a child, a parent, a friend, the world as we know it suddenly changes. We feel the walls around us crashing down and a void in our lives that is so hard to fill. We make peace that the fact that there is a time to be born and there is a time to die and yet the questions that fill our minds consume us.
Was it their time?
Could I have done something?
Why didnt I see it before it happened?
Why me?
If only I knew I would have done things differently?
Where are they?
Why did they have to go?
Are they around us?
Should we feel guilty to move on knowing they are not here anymore?
How do we move on?
Why didnt I sense it?
Did they know they were going to die?
And so on, and so on and then there are the phases of grief we have to go through and most times we dont even know we going through that phase and doubt we are strong enough to deal with it.
We experience the shock, the denial, the fear to go on, the anger, the guilt, the sadness and when they say acceptance we dont even want to hear it. How can we accept the loss of someone who we loved so much, of someone who completed our lives and filled huge portions of our lives.
Loss must be the hardest thing to go through and it seems like just nobody understands what you are feeling, the lumo in your throat, the tears you try so hard to keep from falling, the churning of your stomach, the relentless wishing you could turn back the clock and sometimes even the overwhelming desire to just not go on, to just throw in the towel. It all just seems to hard.
But this is why we are here to help. Each of us have been through heart wrenching losses and each of us understands what it is you are going through. Sure we all have different ways to grieve but the experiences we go through are all so similar and letting go is the hardest part.
This foundation is here to help you Face It - face the loss, the pain, the trauma, the emptiness and the devastation you feel inside and we are committed to helping you get through the agony and find your life again - the life you need to live and the life your loved one would want you to live.
We have members from around the world and support groups in every area. We even have social groups support through Watapp, BBM, Facebook and Twitter.
You will survive this and without even knowing it, you are surviving it already so lets get on with it.
